In Corona Lock down Here are 3 Ways to Feel Like You're on Vacation - Every Day

I still remember summer vacation time. The sun and the sand, badminton and games, the sights and the sounds, long trips and happy faces. No cares, no worries just fun, fun and fun. Why not recall all those precious moments now and feel like at vacation and make everyday a real holiday trip?

It’s a great idea, but for many of us, is more of a distant memory, a regrettable piercing, or bad movie experience and above that this year, 2020 we have never expected to be like this.

Stumble not! There are hundreds of (research-backed) ways to bring home the sunshine in this quarantine too—off Couse without the sand. (And unlike that holiday tours, they won’t cost a penny.) Here’s how.

1. Go Green

Just recollect your last vacation, you might picture a seashore, beaches, a mountaintop, sand dunes or perhaps a vineyard—not the room of the hotel.

This is the reason behind, why we want to be outside on holiday—everyone loves being surrounded by nature which has mental and physical benefits. As per the studies, researchers discovered that people who went to destinations with more green spaces relished an instant boost in mental health that persisted three years. Vice versa people who visited urban areas on holiday with less nature and gardens, on the other hand, suffered a decline in mental health. These hypotheses are made regardless of employment, income, education, and personality.

The beautiful outdoors might even have great healing power. One study also says that hospital patients in a room facing greenery and trees with chirping birds recovered faster from surgery and took fewer painkillers as compared to those whose windows faced a plain wall.

Don’t mind if you can’t go out on vacation to some beautiful place. At home itself you have lots of options to turn your normal day into a vacation like you can convert your terrace/balcony into loving vacation place. Plant flowering plants in your balcony or terrace, put some chairs, jute mat, quilt and make it look like a picnic spot. Put tandoor on roof, cook some delicious dishes, replace your fluorescent lighting with softer lamps, or simply decorate your roof with fresh flowering plants and lights. This is the best way to make your holiday mood.

2. Celebrate Daily

I still remember that day when I asked my new friend at Shimla, do you like to have discounted subway peas and corn grub as its Tuesday and we can celebrate too, he just replied I don’t need any reason to celebrate as for me “Every day is a Celebration”

That attitude really touched me, and it is easy to adopt when you’re surrounded by greenery, big pine trees and mountains. One should maintain a diary by keeping a “gratitude journal,” or a daily note of what you’re thankful for.

Psychologist Robert Emmons of the University of California, Davis, in his research, has found that the diaries can take on significant physical, social and emotional benefits. People maintaining notes have lower blood pressure and boosting immune systems, they feel more alert and happier, and they are more lavish and friendly, his studies have found.

So, the conclusion is one should celebrate the little things in life by taking note of what you’re grateful for every day—be it a caring co-worker, promotion day, a pretty sunset, or, of course, Tuesdays grubs at subway.

3. Try New Things

Most of us choose to go on vacation to explore new places and try new activities and things. Why not implement this strategy at home too. While staying at home in Corona lock down period we can try lot of new things at home.

We can start pursuing our old hobbies which we always wanted to do but because of lack of time we didn’t even tried and closed it in a bin. If you ask me what I am doing these days I have lot to say like writing my experiences in a diary, flying kite without anyone’s help, trying new dishes in kitchen, meditations, yoga, playing indoor games like carom, Ludo, chess, watching inspiring movies & web series on Netflix and Amazon Prime, practicing cultural dance, making decorative items (DIY) for home decoration, doing lots of experiment with art and crafts, trying my old dresses with number of combinations and pampering myself with homemade beauty treatments.

Try to cultivate a little “holiday mood” in your everyday life, We know it’s actually a corona break not a summer vacation but, take it in a positive manner this vacation we have our parents too at home spending time with us. After all, you only live once—and the main part time never remains same, it flies soon.
