It is said that in the 1970s, during the construction of Nimmu Road, a rock was found with prayer flags wrapped around it. When it became impossible to move the rock, it was concluded that it was the rock that was used to kill Guru Nanak, which turned soft at the time and left him unharmed. Hence, the Gurudwara was built around that rock. It is one of the most beautiful places in Ladakh and a must-visit.
