Baku Crystal Hall hosted Karate, Boxing, Volley ball (indoor), Taekwondo, and Fencing events during the inaugural 2015 European Games. From 1st to 14th September 2016, Baku Crystal Hall was the venue for FIDE's 42nd Chess Olympiad, where 182 teams from 176 countries participated.

The fountain square is a location where the city authorities hold many functions, public festivals, shows and celebrations.

In Soviet era, this park was named after Sergei Kirov and the particular reason which makes Highland Park unique is that it has a panorama looking over the city, Baku bay, Seaside National Park stretching along the bay. That explains the reason the park was called “Highland”.

However, the concentration of architectural and historical monuments, dictates the need for this excursion into a separate and make this part of Baku, perhaps the most interesting to explore:

    Baku Ferris Wheel, also known as the Baku Eye, is a Ferris wheel on Baku Boulevard in the Seaside National Park of Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. The wheel was built by the Dutch company Dutch Wheels. From the top of the Baku eye you can enjoy the striking view to the Caspian Sea and Baku. The cabinets are clean and tidy, the best thing is you do not have to wait in the queue and usually it is quiet in there. The observation wheel is approx. 200 feet tall. There are 30 cabins capable of accommodating up to 8 passengers at a time. Officially opened in 2014, this 60m amazing big wheel performs attractive light shows after dark. As it spins very slowly, so a ride takes approximately 15 minutes including stops. For the best experience one should visit this place at night. ‘Baku eye’ is one of the must visit attractions in Baku tour packages.

    The Baku Ateshgah, often called the "Fire Temple of Baku" is a castle-like religious temple in Surakhani town, a suburb in Baku, Azerbaijan. Based on Persian and Indian inions, the temple was used as a Hindu, Sikh, and Zoroastrian place of worship. It was abandoned in the late 19th century, probably due to the dwindling of the Indian population in the area. The natural eternal flame went out in 1969, after nearly a century of exploitation of petroleum and gas in the area, but is now lit by gas piped from the nearby city.
