    Arrive at Paro | Thimphu

    Arrive at Paro Airport and transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.) the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival check in at the hotel. Spend the evening at leisure and explore Thimpu.

    Thimphu

    After breakfast, visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue). With a huge statue of Buddha on the top of the Kuensel Phodrangis is one of the must-visits in Thimphu. Visit National Memorial Chorten (Monument) & Folk Heritage Museum. In the afternoon, visit Sangaygang View Point, Changangkha Monastery and Takin Preserve Centre, the national animal of Bhutan can be seen here. Later, visit Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion).

    Changangkha Lhakhang

    This popular temple, perched like a fortress on a ridge above central Thimphu, hums with pilgrim activity. It was established in the 12th century on a site chosen by Lama Phajo Drukgom Shigpo, who came from Ralung in Tibet. Parents traditionally come here to get auspicious names for their newborns or blessings for their young children from the protector deity Tamdrin . Children are blessed by a phurba and given a sacred thread.

    The Folk Heritage Museum or Phelchey Toenkhyim is a museum in Thimphu, Thimphu District, Bhutan. This museum was established in 2001 and provides visitors and tourists with fascinating insights into the Bhutanese material culture and way of life. The Folk Heritage Museum is set inside a three storied, 19th century traditional house.

    The magnificent National Memorial Chorten was built in the memory of Third Durk Gyalpo and is dedicated to world peace. One of the intriguing facts about the structure is that it is visible from almost all the places in Thimphu. The marvelous white structure with spires of gold is a must-visit spot in Thimphu. To see the Chorten at its best pay a visit in the morning when there are lesser tourists and more locals who visit to pay their respect at the Chorten.

    The Bhutan Textile Museum or the National Textile Museum is a national textiles museum in Thimphu, Bhutan, located near the National Library of Bhutan. It is operated by the National Commission for Cultural Affairs. Since its establishment in 2001, the museum has generated national and international attention and has garnered a substantial collection of antique textile artefacts, exclusive to Bhutan. The objective of setting up the museum is to promote Bhutan's achievements in the field of textile arts and to sustain and promote interest of the weavers to continue the traditional textile patterns.

    Thimphu | Paro

    After breakfast, transfer to Paro. On the way visit the Tachog Lhakhang – situated between Thimphu and Paro and it was built in the 13th century by Thangthong Gyalpo. He is also known as the Iron bridge builder. Situated on a hill top, we have to cross an ancient style bridge to reach the temple. On arrival in Paro, check in at the hotel. In the afternoon visit Ta Dzong - National Museum with an excellent collection of arts, relics, religious thangkha. Rinpung Dzong - Meaning "fortress of the heap of jewels". The dzong now serves as the administrative and judicial seat of Paro.

    Tachog Lhakhang is the most iconic spots in Bhutan! Tachog Lhakhang, also known as the Tamchoe Monastery, dates back to the 15th century is nestled atop a hill between Paro and Thimphu. The best part about visiting this monastery is that you have to cross the famous iron bridge across the river to make your way to the alluring temple. Visit this beautiful temple and discover the mystery behind building the temple. The symbolic bridge is one the most photographed places in Bhutan and definitely, a must visit spots in Paro.

    Taktsang Monastery or Tiger’s Nest is one of the most sacred and symbolic places in Bhutan. Perched on the side of a cliff with the backdrop of Paro Valley, a hike up to the monastery is an experience in itself. The legends says that that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery and hence it is called "Tiger's Nest". Take the incredible journey and hike up for 2 km on the trail that offers majestic mountain views and verdant valley and unveils the mystery of tales of the Tiger’s Nest.

Travel Basics

  • Any customized/recommended tour itinerary posted on the website is only a proposed holiday outline. We are not holding any confirmed hotel reservations for your travel. The same is subject to availability at the time of booking. The quotation might change based on actual availability of the service.
  • Indo Asia Holidays will inform you of any change in prices and only after your confirmation, proceed with booking. Cost will not be refunded for any un-utilized services.
  • Weekend or other surcharges may be applicable over and above the package cost for the requested period. Indo Asia Holidays will inform you of such costs at the time of booking or before confirming the package.
  • The client needs to make an advance payment as per the specific package terms at the time of confirming the tour and make the balance payment as per the payment conditions of the package.

  • Initial amount at the time of booking – 25%
  • 30 or more days before departure – 40%
  • Between 25 to 20 days before departure – 60%
  • Between 19 to 10 days before departure – 100% 

Cancellation Charges Per Person

  • You are eligible for a full refund for any cancellation request 30 days prior to departure. But, such a cancellation will incur a communication and processing charge of Rs. 2000 per pax. 
  • Cancellation has to be sent to us by Email.
  • 30 - 25 days before departure: 25% of total cost
  • 24 – 20 days before departure: 50% of total cost
  • 19 – 10 days before departure: 75% of total cost
  • Less than 10 days before departure: 100% of total cost
  • In case of no show: 100%
